The IntegrAGE project, in collaboration 15 partners from 10 European countries, focuses on facilitating the healthy integration of the older workforce (55+) into the labor market. It aims to leverage the knowledge and skills of this demographic, assisting them in adapting to new working environments and extending their professional lives. Through the development of a comprehensive strategy and action plan, the project addresses skilled workforce shortages by promoting age-adapted work environments, flexible working arrangements, and a positive work culture.

Key activities include country-specific analyses, policy recommendations, awareness campaigns, and pilot training programs for age management within companies. The initiative also features innovative tools like a self-assessment tool for personal development and a gamified training concept tailored for older workers, enhancing their digital and resilience skills.

Participating companies in the IntegrAGE project will benefit from access to a skilled, experienced workforce, enhancing their productivity and innovation. By employing older employees (55+), companies can tap into their vast knowledge and adaptability, integrating valuable insights into business processes. Midterm Conference in Meeting of IntegrAGE Partners in Belgrade 8th - 9th of October 2025

The IntegrAGE Mid-Term Conference (hibrid format) brought together experts and practitioners to explore how to build more inclusive, age-friendly workplaces across the Danube Region. Highlights included three keynotes: Eurofound’s Tina Weber shared regional evidence on 55+ employment, job quality and the need for a multi-level policy mix, featuring Austria’s Fit2Work as a strong practice; Deutsche Bahn’s Jana Petersen presented a five-pillar strategy to reduce age discrimination and attract 50+ talent; and mentor Michaela Hrdličková showcased the impact of intergenerational mentoring and the Finnish “House of Work Ability” model. The event confirmed that age-friendly work environments are a strategic necessity for resilience, innovation, recruitment and retention. In addition to the conference, partners also held a Steering Committee meeting and took part in a good-practice study visit to CCIS–Prince Aviation in Belgrade, showcasing their corporate mentoring programme.

Two Events within the InterAGE Project – The Productive Power of Mature Years

As part of the meaningful InterAGE project, two events are taking place in Kranj on the 12th and 18th of December 2025.

Through an active exchange of views and experiences, the potential usefulness of the life and work experience of the 55+ generation is being explored — for the benefit of both employers and jobseekers.

At the same time, possibilities for upgrading and adapting existing skills to the needs of the present time are being highlighted. The events are carried out in cooperation with Srčno Mentorstvo and the Chamber of Craft and Small Business Kranj.

Opportunities for the common good exist — they only need to be brought to light.
This is the purpose of a project that brings together the experience of 15 partners from 10 Danube region countries, coordinated by BSC Kranj.

For the benefit of all!

IntegrAGE movie: Age-Friendly Workplaces Across the Danube Region

IntegrAGE supports the labour market integration of workers aged 55+ across the Danube Region by promoting age-friendly workplace practices and cross-country cooperation. The film contributes to this mission by presenting one age-friendly company from each partner country and showcasing practical measures that help older employees stay active, motivated, and supported. Through short interviews, it highlights how organisations enable work–family–life balance, sustain wellbeing and productivity, and build cultures that recognise the value of older workers’ skills and experience. By sharing these real-life examples, the film responds to demographic and labour market pressures and demonstrates innovative, human-centred approaches that strengthen inclusion and workplace resilience.

Termoelektrarna Brestanica (TE Brestanica) is also an age-friendly company. As its Technical Director, Jure Colarič, explains, TE Brestanica taps into the strong potential of employees aged 55+ by combining intergenerational knowledge transfer with wellbeing-focused measures.

A long-running mentoring programme supports the transfer of experience from older to younger colleagues. Free sports activities strengthen health and social connectedness. Workplace ergonomics are continuously improved through adjustable office furniture, equipment that reduces the need for heavy lifting, and high-quality protective gear for employees working in workshops. This approach strengthens cooperation and overall wellbeing while reducing physical strain.
